Primordial

A work by painter Hans Arp uses torn fragments of paper, joined together as in a collage.
The work is my source of inspiration in the “Primordial” project, in an abstract key.
The series is based on the expressiveness and chromatic fluidity of materials in their molten state, such as minerals and rocks, before they solidify in the earth’s crust.
Because of their density, plasticity and hardness, the materials do not melt or mix.
I reinterpret the physical properties of materials from a bird’s eye perspective.
The sinuous shapes of large blobs form lakes of magma, islands of matter, rivers of plasma.
In an atavistic, ancestral, primordial vision.
